It’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week here in Missouri.

Today’s theme is lightning safety.

Lightning strikes the United States about 25 million times a year—killing 20 or more people a year, and severely injuring hundreds more—and although most lightning occurs during the summer, people can be struck at any time of year.
