Scammers may pretend to be from Medicare and ask for your Medicare number, Social Security number, or other personal information. Don’t let them fool you!
Remember:
• Medicare will not call you unexpectedly asking for personal information.
• Never share your Medicare number with someone you don’t know.
• Be cautious of offers for free medical equipment, services, or gift cards in exchange for your information.
• Don’t click suspicious links or give information over the phone to unknown callers.
• If something doesn’t feel right, hang up and verify before taking action.
When in doubt, don’t give it out! Protect your personal information and help protect yourself from Medicare fraud.
